Every journey comes with challenges—what has been the toughest obstacle you’ve faced since you started traveling solo in
This is an excellent question. Coming from tiny Bermuda with no lakes and rivers, no waterfalls or mountains, l am fascinated even today, eleven years later by these wonders of nature. As the years have gone by my fitness levels have dropped rather than improved and so this could create problems pursuing these adventures.
From 2014 to 2019 there was no problem. Either alone or with a group off l went in pursuit of that something that l wanted to experience Finally in fall of 2019 l was with a group in the Siemen Mountains of Ethiopia when l realized the person in the rear holding up the group was me. It hit me like a lightening strike.
I took this very seriously and, while reflecting upon it back in Bermuda, l accepted that my trekking days were over. Of course, l have walked many places since then but trekking? No, l stopped because when someone else was really holding the group up l would be annoyed. So l know how it bugs those trying to move quickly. As l continue to walk l have seen so many beautiful works of God and men and l love to walk among these creations.
